Ellijay | Bear Creek Trail - in the Cohutta Mountains. 6.6 mile loop follows Bear Creek. Look for the Gennett Poplar with a 17'9" circumference a few yards to the left of the trail after the second creek crossing. From the Ellijay square, travel 52 West 5.1 miles, turn right onto unmarked paved county road at Bear Creek Campground sign. Proceed 5 miles, then turn rt. onto FS 241 (unpaved) for 2 miles to the parking area. | |
| Ellijay | Mulberry Gap Bunk House Inn and Camping - a ride in-ride out location (don't have to load up bikes and travel at the beginning and ending of a ride) for mountain bikers to the Bear Creek and Pinhoti trails. Great place to ride and stay as they have showers, hot tubs, bike wash and meals at the end of the ride. The camping and private bunkhouses are an additional attraction.
