Blue Ridge Second Chance Animal Sanctuary - is a no-kill rescue group. They provide spaying and neutering and educational programs. They also rescue homeless animals and takes them to NJ to be adopted since there is a shortage of pets there. The animals are all spayed/neutered and checked out before the road trip. Blue Ridge The DAV Transportation Network - provides free transportation to the VA medical facilities. The program is in need of drivers. They can now provide daily trips to Atlanta and to the Oakwood Clinic in Gainesville. Anyone 18 years of age with a valid driverís license that is willing to donate two or three days a month is welcome as a driver. Prior to being certified, all applicants receive a complete physical free of charge by the VA staff.
